The ones that tend to earn you the most are academic textbooks (medicine, law, engineering, economics, psychology and the sciences), specialist non-fiction (history, philosophy, art history, architecture and music theory), technical and professional reference, art and photography books, and hobbyist specialist titles on things like chess, horology, beekeeping, and fishing.

Current editions in good condition attract the highest offers, but we still love to buy your fiction, cookbooks, CDs, DVDs and games too, but it’s the specialist stuff that really bumps up a basket total.

We do, in fact, textbooks are one of our favourite things to buy. Current editions in medicine, law, engineering, the sciences, economics and psychology pay the most. Older editions are still welcome, they just tend to go for a bit less because demand drops off when a new edition lands.

We’d love to say yes to everything, but unfortunately, we can’t always buy everything. This usually happens when we’ve already got plenty of copies in stock, or demand for a particular title is low.
The easiest way to check is to scan your items using our app or website. If we can make you an offer, you’ll see the price straight away. If we can’t, you’ll know instantly and won’t need to bother sending it.

Yes, some older, rare or specialist books don’t have an ISBN, which means they can’t always be scanned. You can still sell books without an ISBN to WeBuyBooks by using our online catalogue, where you can browse and select from hundreds of specialist and non-ISBN titles to get an instant price.

Postage is completely free. Once you accept your offer, we’ll provide a prepaid postage label that you can print at home, print in store at a participating parcel shop, or have printed for you when your items are collected.

Simply pack your items securely, attach the label, and either drop the parcel off at a local parcel shop or arrange a free home collection. There’s no need to pay for delivery or organise a courier.

Once your items arrive with us and pass our checks, payment is usually made within 24 hours. You’ll receive your money using your chosen payment method, so there’s no long waiting period after your items are delivered.

The sooner you send your items, the sooner you’ll be paid. Postage typically takes 1-3 days.

We recommend getting your items in the post within 7 days of accepting your offer. If we haven’t received them within 21 days, the original price might not hold, so we’ll reassess when they arrive and adjust the valuation if anything’s changed.
